Torch Farm Vets in Devon remains one of the south-west’s leading vet-owned, independent practices.

We have extensive experience managing large single species of dairy, beef, sheep, pig, goat and alpaca units as well as caring for smaller multi-species holdings. Unlike other large practices, we pride ourselves on being able to provide a highly responsive personal service at all times of day or night.

Our commitment to you

It is our aim to work as part of your team of advisors to provide good quality healthcare that’s value for money. Through a number of health planning, disease surveillance and performance review programmes, we can deliver a tangible benefit; working in partnership to achieve your business goals whilst delivering the highest levels of clinical care.

Here’s what we offer

  • We put continuity of care first. Your dedicated vet will strive to understand your business, working as part of your team of advisors.

  • Our 24-hour emergency service means you will always get through to a member of staff, whatever time of day or night.

  • Our large team of clinicians have a range of advanced qualifications that cover a broad spectrum of specialist subject areas.

  • We are constantly investing in our facilities, equipment and technology to ensure we offer the very best veterinary care we can.

  • Our hospitals are staffed 24/7.

  • Our in-house laboratories ensure a quick turnaround on results.

  • We actively promote farmer training and run a series of events and courses throughout the year. We can also assist you to get funding.

  • Our dedicated sheep breeding team offers a range of specialist fertility services to pedigree flocks across the south-west and beyond.

24 hour care

Your call is NEVER diverted to answer machines or call centres.

At Torch Farm Vets in Devon, we’re dedicated to your animals. That’s why you’ll find two of our convenient locations have staff on-site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide optimum 24 hour emergency care.

We have access to a wide range of diagnostic tools within the practice from battery operated portable scanners to digital X-ray equipment and cow-side blood testing to liver biopsy.

Many procedures will be carried out ‘on farm’ but, unlike most farm animal practices, we can provide hospitalisation facilities, where our veterinary nurses  provide on-site care 24 hours a day.

Here, we have the facilities to carry out minor procedures in our treatment room and major procedures, under general anaesthetic, in our well-equipped large animal operating theatre.

We are able to provide surgical facilities in Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and South Molton.

We’re proud to say that the attention to detail that underpins our service, leads to happy, healthy stock which in turn, leads to better production and increased profits.
