Torch Farm Vets in Devon remains one of the south-west’s leading vet-owned, independent practices.
We have extensive experience managing large single species of dairy, beef, sheep, pig, goat and alpaca units as well as caring for smaller multi-species holdings. Unlike other large practices, we pride ourselves on being able to provide a highly responsive personal service at all times of day or night.

24 hour care
Your call is NEVER diverted to answer machines or call centres.
At Torch Farm Vets in Devon, we’re dedicated to your animals. That’s why you’ll find two of our convenient locations have staff on-site 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide optimum 24 hour emergency care.
We have access to a wide range of diagnostic tools within the practice from battery operated portable scanners to digital X-ray equipment and cow-side blood testing to liver biopsy.
Many procedures will be carried out ‘on farm’ but, unlike most farm animal practices, we can provide hospitalisation facilities, where our veterinary nurses provide on-site care 24 hours a day.
Here, we have the facilities to carry out minor procedures in our treatment room and major procedures, under general anaesthetic, in our well-equipped large animal operating theatre.
We are able to provide surgical facilities in Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and South Molton.
We’re proud to say that the attention to detail that underpins our service, leads to happy, healthy stock which in turn, leads to better production and increased profits.
