Video-Gastroscopy and Endoscopy

With our 3 Metre endoscope we can examine the stomach of horses for evidence of gastric ulceration.  This is a condition we see in all types of horses, with many competition horses experiencing moderate to severe ulceration.

Signs of gastric ulceration can include:

  • Weight Loss
  • Poor performance
  • Low grade colic
  • Pain when ‘girthing up’
  • Poor coat
  • Depressed attitude
  • Loss of appetite

Our fibre optic endoscope allows us to examine the whole respiratory system.  We are able to diagnose conditions of the larynx, examine the guttural pouches as well as access and sample the lower airways.
