At Torch Farm & Equine Limited, we are busy working towards the new legislation known as GDPR (General Data Protection Rule) which is being introduced from 25th May 2018. This will replace the existing Data Protection Act 1998.

The new legislation is being introduced to bring all 28 EU member states under one common regulation and also to upgrade the Data Protection regulations so that they accurately reflect our new digital and technological age.

What does this change mean for our clients?

You will notice a new Privacy Policy on display in our practices and also on our website at www.torchvets.com. This policy is designed to explain how we use your data, how we protect it and the various rights you have in relation to the information that we hold on you.

In addition, the new legislation asks us to update our client’s communication preferences, for example, how and when we contact you. We currently use a number of methods to contact you in relation to the management of your animal’s health, treatment or vaccination reminders and on occasion in relation to products and services we think you may find useful, including our regular newsletters.
