Targeted Worming

A targeted worming programme tailored for your horse

The susceptibility of horses to infestation by parasitic worms is very individual. Targeted worming enables horses to be treated only if necessary, whilst receiving a routine bot, tapeworm and encysted redworm treatment in the winter. Most horses as a result are only wormed twice a year.

Our Targeted Worming Programme has been running for the past 4 years and has been very well received, with our lab now processing over 500 worm egg counts a year. Members include individual owners to entire livery yards.

In general, young horses are far more at risk than mature horses. As well as the Targeted Worming Programme we offer individual faecal egg counts and discussion of your horse’s management to formulate a bespoke worm control strategy.

Full Targeted Worming Programme (4 years and over):

A year’s supply of wormers for your horse supplied at the correct time of year.  Includes three worm egg counts with sample kits sent out in the post with a return service. Discounts available for multiple horses and yard schemes, click on the links below for more details.
